There I wa, deep into drafting a settlement demand on a Workers' Fair Wage Act claim, dealing with an employer who had classified my client as a "creative professional." That classification would have been fine—if they had actually paid the minimum salary required for the exemption. Instead, my client had been underpaid by about $20,000 a year.
